Girls Lacrosse Gear Guide
Essential equipment checklist for players and parents
Essential Equipment
Lacrosse Stick
The most important piece of equipment. Choose the right length and pocket depth for your position and skill level.
Tips: Beginners should start with a complete stick. Advanced players may prefer separate heads and shafts.
Protective Goggles
ASTM-certified eyewear is required for all players. Choose comfortable, well-fitting goggles.
Tips: Look for anti-fog coating and adjustable straps for comfort.
Mouthguard
Properly fitted mouthguard protects teeth and reduces concussion risk.
Tips: Boil-and-bite mouthguards offer the best fit and protection.
Cleats
Soccer or lacrosse cleats provide traction on grass and turf fields.
Tips: No metal cleats allowed. Choose based on field surface and position.
Lacrosse Ball
Official size and weight ball for practice and games.
Tips: Have multiple balls for practice. Official balls are white or yellow.
Athletic Socks
Moisture-wicking socks that extend above the ankle.
Tips: Choose socks that match your team colors and provide good cushioning.
Optional Equipment
Gloves
Provide grip and protection for hands, especially in cold weather.
Note: Not required but recommended for better stick control.
Compression Shirt
Moisture-wicking base layer for comfort and temperature regulation.
Note: Helps with sweat management and can provide light padding.
Compression Shorts
Comfortable base layer with optional padding for falls and slides.
Note: Many players prefer these under their game shorts.
